TRVL IA

Dear Friend:

During these difficult economic times, many families are having to make hard choices when it comes to their pocketbooks. This means that many families are staying home this summer.

However, we have a way to save money and still have fun this summer – stay and travel in Iowa!

Here in Iowa, there are many great activities that you can do for a week, a day, or even a couple of hours that won’t break the bank. From boating on the Mississippi to hiking along the Missouri, and everywhere in between, Iowa offers many world-class, exciting attractions that will no doubt entertain you and your loved ones.

And what’s more, by vacationing in Iowa, you are supporting local businesses, and investing your money right back here into your community.

To help highlight the many unique, interesting, and fun attractions and activities you can do right here in Iowa, I am hitting the road this summer.  Travel Iowa ‘09 will hit more than 65 communities in all corners of the state.  We will see some well known attractions, as well as some hidden treasures that you and your family can enjoy.

I would like to invite you to come and join me on this trip.  Over the course of the summer, I will be visiting more than 65 counties, including 19 next week.

And if you cannot attend, you can follow along on the Travel Iowa ’09 blog at www.traveliowa.blogspot.com.  Here you will find the full tour schedule, links to exciting events and attractions, and regular updates from me as I travel the state.

I hope you and your family will be able to join when Travel Iowa ’09 comes to your area, and I look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,
Patty Judge
Lt. Governor of Iowa
